Safety First

At Planet Wise, we believe that the best way to stay safe whilst travelling is by learning how to recognise the signs of a potentially dangerous situation...before it happens.

Retaining control, reacting sensibly, diffusing trouble and listening to your instincts are all sure-fire ways of ensuring that you remain safe, and that your travel experience is memorable for all the right reasons!

We'll help you

  • Understand what acceptable behaviour is and why it changes from place to place, culture to culture and from time to time.
  • Understand and avoid the dangers associated with alcohol and drugs.
  • Make quick and realistic judgements about the people you meet.
  • Understand officials, what they require, and how not to antagonise them.
  • Keep in touch with people at home and make sure other people know where you are going to be at any given time.

What can happen

We also use techniques developed with the Fire Brigade on how to check out accommodation and evacuate a burning building.

The police have advised us on how to deal with difficult situations, including pestering touts, over zealous officials, drugs awareness and problems associated with alcohol.

We also include a section for women travellers - we separate the group so both males and females can ask all those difficult questions without embarrassment.
